Summertime

Barbecues and parties,
Camping at the lake.
Family reunions, playing at the park--
Laying in the sun for a tan until you bake.

Music, dancing and laughter--
Celebrating the beautiful weather.
Put on plenty of sunscreen,
So your skin won't look like leather.

Going swimming with your friends,
Fighting mosquitoes and catching fireflies.
Air conditioning breaks down due to overload.
Storms develop in the skies.

Ice tea and lemonade made cold
To wet your whistle,
Some places have wind storms--
With blowing dust and thistles.

Every time it gets too hot,
We long for something cold.
But when winter comes, the snow and ice
Definitely get old.

The Lord gives us 4 seasons
To remind us there's a time for everything.
Fall and winter--when things end,
Spring and summer rebirth, the cycle begins again.
