We've come very far
In the last hundred years.
Building up our country
Through blood, sweat, and tears.
Building bridges and railroads--
Turning towns into cities large,
With skyscrapers oh so high--
Making roadways for buggies and cars.
Medical treatments are more advanced,
Doctors still treat families, some are specialists.
Vaccines for deadly diseases were discovered,
Lab tests and imaging, no one ever believed could exist.
We still have diseases
For which we have no cures--
But we have research foundations
That can produce treatments so patients can endure.
Even though we've progressed,
Some things are still the same--
Love of God, family, and country,
We're Americans we proudly proclaim.
