It's a four letter word
Known quite well world wide,
It's known by old and young
And animals of every kind.
It's not the word
You think it is-
That one's well known too
It's better left unsaid, but people never do.
The four letter word
I'm talking about
Is FEAR, everyone feels it--
But doesn't want to say it straight out.
There are different fears
That people have--
Death, the unknown--
Changing their life paths.
Saying what you feel out loud--
Being rejected or laughed at.
Being so mad and saying
Words you regret and can't take back.
Of growing old and being alone,
Financial worries--right now there's a lot of that.
People and animals fear being abused
And abandoned--not knowing where home is at.
Fear of illnesses that
There are no cures for,
And being shut away
Behind closed doors.
Sometimes it helps
To talk about your fears,
A lot of people refuse to
Because they'll break into tears.
There is someone you can talk to
About anything you need--
Who won't reject or make fun,
God is always there--guaranteed.
