Pixie (aka The Pixilator)

My family are dog lovers,
I cannot tell a lie--
We're partial to schnauzers,
And were bereft when our last one died.

We looked on line for breeders--
But decided to adopt,
At one shelter was a schnauzer mix--
And that is what we got.

Someone had treated her badly--
She doesn't care for men,
They abandoned her and when she was found,
The shelter took her in.

She needs to have some training,
Which we have done before.
She's only 1 year old, but "assumes the position"
Like a beating is in store.

She loves to run and play--
Give kisses and cuddle.
She follows us where we go-
And sometime makes a puddle.

She is ornery,
But we loved her from the start--
We still miss our other dog--but this
One's already put paw prints on our hearts.
