There are different genres,
Some are new and some are classics.
There are mysteries and westerns--
And some for romantics.

Some are nonfiction--
They tell stories that are true,
Some are fiction--stories made up
To entertain you.

They take you to faraway places
That you'll probably never see,
And add in bits of culture
From each country.

They'll tell you a mystery--
Keeping you on the edge of your seat,
Or show pictures and stories
Of historical feats.

Words on paper,
Or a Kindle or Nook--
This is why I love
To read books.
