Progress is good in some things, we need to keep up with the times. But sometimes progress can be sad for some, people don't realize they leave others behind.
When you have an important message to share, it should be straight from the heart without fanfare.
Christ was a simple man, He wasn't flashy or always. Saying how great He was. He spread His message in many ways. He would preach to the people who followed Him wherever He would go. Talking of God and the prophets so the people would know.
He healed the sick and raised the raised the dead, and asked for no fee. Christ taught and did good works for everyone to see.
He had His disciples go to other places to spread the news. He didn't cater to other people's ideas, He did what God sent Him to do.
Most people like the "Old Time Religion", straight talk from God's word. A mix of old and new hymns, a piano or organ. No need for drums and horns so the message can be heard.
It's a wonderful thing, bringing people to God. But sometimes, with progress, the older Christians get forgot.
All kinds of activities and trips are great for the youth and others. But some of the elderly ones can't do that due to age, health, or finances, and may think they're no longer worth the bother.
Everyone has their own lives and can't always be around. But imagine when someone asks can your church help? And you have to say that those who do that are all out of town.
People need prayers, moral support, just an ear or a shoulder. Some would appreciate communion on Sundays to partake of the Lord's Supper.
No one is perfect, but in striving to reach new members, Don't forget the old ones. GOD REMEMBERS.
