It's just starting to get cool in the evenings as fall comes. I sit in my rocker on the porch of my cabin in the Appalachian Mountains and just enjoy the beautiful colors of the trees and bushes. As evening comes, I have to put on a jacket as it will be too cold. The stars start shining in the sky. The Good Lord knows how to use light and color in all it's beauty. It's peaceful here, no highways or planes overhead. I have a neighbor a few miles away and we help each other out. We were tired of the rat race and had saved enough money to move here with our families and enjoy the tranquility. If there's ever any danger of fire or flood,we have a safe shelter to evacuate to. It's wonderful to be here and commune with God and Nature. We don't need a lot of fancy luxury. Sturdy home, keeps us warm in Winter and cool in Summer. Roof doesn't leak, indoor plumbing, food on the table, and love and fellowship with our neighbors at cookouts or church potluck dinners. It may not be perfect but it comes close.
