There's a phrase used in the military: No One's Left Behind. That should also include other walks of life. NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND, NO UNDERPRIVILEGED FANILY LEFT BEHIND, NO DISABLED AND/OR ELDERLY PERSON IS LEFT BEHIND, AND NO PETS ARE LEFT BEHIND. Instead of killing each other, we should come together and help each other. You never leave elderly family members on the street or at a facility all alone. All children deserve an education in a safe place. Underprivileged families need to be able to have less trouble meeting requirements to get food and housing. I'm not talking immigrants, though they're humans too. I'm talking about out own citizens. We should never treat people down on their luck like they are dirt on the bottom of our shoes--in the blink of an eye we could be in their situation too. Pets are family members. You don't leave them behind to starve and get sick and die. I know that some work the system to get aid so they don't have to work . But all that does it make it harder for the people who do need it to qualify. There are news stories about kids who sell lemonade or cookies or do other fundraisers to help a friend who is sick and needs help with bills. Jesus said "suffer the little children to come unto me, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. " If kids can work together to help others, then why can't grownups? Maybe it's time some of us got our priorities in order.
