When God created woman, He created a human who would be caring, nurturing, and not to be treated as a lesser person. He enabled her to carry a child and give birth to the child and care for it and help provide for it. Becoming a mother is one of the most personal things a woman can do. So God gave her the name mother for her children to call her. God is never cold, aloof or distant. So why is society wanting to call Mothers "gestational or birthing parent "? It makes them sound like robotic machines. Even the computers we use all the time have a "motherboard ". The new terms sound so impersonal. It's true some women are not cut out to be mothers, but the ones who are do not deserve to be called names that sound like machinery . Society is getting a bit too clinical in their terminology and other areas. Mother has been good enough for centuries and still continues to be the best. We celebrate MOTHERS DAY, not gestational parent day. My mother will always be called mother or mom and that will not change for me no matter what anyone says. I feel sad for the mothers that are called by these new terms. To me it seems disrespectful.
