Sitting around the fireplace, the flames giving warmth and a gentle glow. Everyone has cups of cocoa with marshmallows and are reminiscing of Christmases from years ago.
They think of the Christmas memories they loved best, and compare to Christmases now. While the current ones are special in their own way, they don't leave you with the warm, happy feeling of love and joy like the ones past
Telling funny stories about putting up decorations, whether lights on the house, or hanging garlands, wreaths, and mistletoe and decorating the tree, recalling who ended up in the ER as patients.
During those times, you weren't aware of making special memories. The wives made sure everything was done to perfection, trading recipes from previous generations--while the kids waited to devour the food while they sat at the children's table.
Always say grace and have a moment of silence for those no longer there. Candlelight service at church with everyone singing carols loved through the ages. All praying for blessings for all in the world to ease their woes.
PEACE ON EARTH, GOOD WILL TO MEN : not just for some, but everyone of every religion.
