ROAD TRIP

 Stranded on an empty road in the middle of 

Nowhere on a dark, moonless night.

The strong wind is hot and dusty,

Leaving the feeling of grit in your eyes.

Tow truck can't get to you until morning,

You forgot to renew your AAA--so no roadside assistance.

You're hungry, tired, and thirsty, and of course--wanting

To be healthy, you don't have any snacks.

Drove through lunch, figured you'd eat something

When you stopped for the night.

Granola bars and fruit won't cut it, you're too hungry for those.

No bottled water either, some would say that's not too bright.

Hopefully what stopped working on the car can be

Fixed at a reasonable price.

You have some money for emergences, and a little extra for fun--

Nothing to do about it now, try to get some shut eye.

Once it's fixed, head back home to your normal life.

If someone mentions a road trip to you again,

Look them straight in the eyes and say:

"YOU'RE INSANE!!"
