She lays weeping through the night
For the loved one she's lost.
If only she could have him back
Again, no matter what the cost.
She has so many questions--
But not sure who or how to ask.
Was this one of his original health problems,
Or one of those horrific pandemic attacks?
Together they raised a family, married
For 60 years. She brought him to the Lord.
She'll go on without him--
But, oh it will be hard.
He knew he was loved by his
Wife and kids, and extended family
Too. They knew he loved them back--he
Would go to his shop and spend time tinkering.
The entire family is grieving, so sudden
And such a shock. They came to celebrate
An anniversary, instead there will be a small
Funeral and their hearts will break.
He was a good, kind man--not perfect,
But who is? He would never leave
Them if he didn't have to. The time will come
When they think of him and smile, not grieve.
