ANOTHER OLD FRIEND GONE

We lost another long time family
Friend just the other day.
He was diabetic and hated Dr.'s--
But he always went anyway.

He started going down hill, and his
Brother and his daughter stayed
With him.  His brother lives in
Kansas City--to care for him and pray.

His daughter came each night after
Work and spent the night so he wasn't
Alone.  He'd fallen a few times and
Couldn't keep down anything to eat.

When his brother had to go back to
Kansas City, he called him every morning
And every night to check on him to be sure
He was OK.  Then came the day he wasn't answering.

His brother called his niece at work and said
He didn't answer.  She called her daughter to go and
Check on her grandpa.  She found him in his recliner,
He had gone to sleep and the angels took him home.

He wasn't perfect, but deep down he was a good
Man. He took care of both of his parents until
They passed--and he would help you if you needed
Him to.  He'll be missed.

He had a habit of telling jokes that were
Not particularly funny, and he spoke the
Language of sarcasm fluently.  Those who
Didn't know him thought him aloof and strange.

But if you knew him for a long time, and took
The effort to get to know him personally--
You'd find a man who loved God and His Word,
And he definitely loved his family.
