Researchers dedicate their lives to find
Cures for diseases or vaccines to prevent--
And the drug companies price them way too high.
They advertise these drugs, or do reports
On the news--but if the disease doesn't
Kill you, the possible side affects may,
If the price for it already hasn't.
The pharmaceutical companies say they
May be able to help you get your meds
Cheaper. Talk about fake news, you have
To jump through hoops that make you see red.
There are some people that are rationing
The meds they need to live because they
Can't afford them. Others make monthly or
Weekly trips to Canada to get it more cheaply.
Then there are companies that merge,
So their employees will have a better
Work environment and in turn, provide
Better care or a better product for consumers.
But a little while after the merger takes
Place, people are laid off after years of
Loyalty--and bosses say some bull about
Duplications of services being too expensive.
These people aren't trying to help society--
They're simply wanting to line their pockets
With more money, not caring about those put on the
Streets because the money was taken from THEIR pockets.
Pharmaceutical companies don't seem to care
About people rationing their meds or
Not buying them because they need food to
Eat. A decision some literally die for.
Congress isn't worried--they have cushy jobs
With big salaries, pensions and great
Healthcare benefits. Let them live on what
Some seniors do, and see what is their fate.
