FIREFLIES DANCING

Have you ever, as a child or an adult--
Sat on your porch or even gone camping,
And when it's dark under the moon and
Stars--watched the fireflies dancing?

It's really calming and fun to watch.
Like tiny flashing Christmas lights--
They fly here and there, glowing
And dancing through the night.

Sometimes as kids, we'd catch them
In a jar with holes in the lids.
Sometimes they're called lightening
Bugs.  Little glowing bugs God created.

You only see them in the summer--
Maybe a few in the spring, but when
You see one, you know that warm
Weather is definitely coming.

I feel bad for people who never
Have had the time or interest to
Watch the fireflies dance.  I
Hope someday they get a chance to.

It may sound simple and hokey,
To some from big cities with
Skyscrapers, or a beach--but it's
One of the best things there is.
