HAPPY NEW YEAR?

2018 is almost over--
2019 will soon begin.
Hopefully the government will
Accomplish something for our citizens.

Closing down the government
Wasn't a very good move.
Congress gets extra vacation,
And the President has no clue.

People who are already struggling
Are now working without pay.
They'll have no income to buy food
Or pay bills, they're in a bad way.

How can someone who is
Supposedly good at business--
Make such a mess of things
In the oval office?

Something's he's changed
May help our economy,
But other areas are getting the
Shaft.  He's out of his depth on policy.

And practically everyone of his
Original staff has either left
On their own--or he fired them.  He
Takes 1 step forward, and goes back 2 steps.

What it's come down to
Is a battle of stubborn wills.
Mexico, he said would pay for the wall--
Now we're expected to foot the bill.

And people coming in illegally, he
Definitely doesn't like--but
Holding them on the border in tents
And 2 children dying, is definitely nuts.

He says illegals get here and rob and
Kill us.  That may be true of some.
But what about the citizens here who
Rob and murder people with their guns?

I pray in 2019 that somehow our country
Get's straightened out.  I pray God
Makes them stop the inhumanity where children
Die because they can't get help quick enough.

I pray that 2019 brings common sense
To our leaders and happiness and
Prosperity to all.  I pray they stop treating immigrants
Like animals, our ancestors came from other lands.

May God bless us all and heal the
Division in our country.  And pass
Laws so it's safe to go to school, church, and
Elsewhere without worrying each breath is your last.
