In this life, once in a while
Do or say something just
To make someone smile.
It needn't be a grand gesture,
Or an expensive gift--just
Let them know they matter.
Help them with something
They can't do alone--it's easier
When two get it going.
Sit and visit with them.
You'll possibly learn things
You didn't know, some little gem.
Tell someone a joke or silly
Story--it will make their day--
Especially if it's a dilly.
Some people say they have too
Much to do--they don't have time for
That. Some day they'll need a kindness too.
