RAINY DAYS

Remember how The Carpenters
Always sang about rainy days
And Mondays always got them down?
Everyone feels like that about Mondays.

But some people actually like
Rainy days--as long as no floods
Or damaging storms come with it.  As
Kids we'd dance in rain and play in mud.

Some are bothered by pain from
Weather fronts changing, others
Get depressed because they feel
As dreary as the weather.

There are some who find rainy
Days peaceful and calming.  Safe
And dry, listening to rain on the roof--
Play favorite music, a nap to take.

Some put finishing touches on
A project they've been doing,
Or use the time to pray or meditate
To keep that peaceful feeling.

With all the problems we
All have these days--
It's nice to have tranquility
To get us ready for Mondays.
