PAST THE CITY LIMITS

Train whistle blows as it
Rumbles down the track.
Past warehouses and factories,
Loaded railroad cars back to back.

Companies have their plants
Around this part of town--
Vast open areas surrounded
By 18-wheelers, packed and loaded down.

Hear the rumble of traffic
Moving on the highway,
Everyone going somewhere--
All a different place.

Sun beats down in daylight--
Moon casts an eerie sliver glow
In the inky darkness,
Creating spooky shadows.

Past the city limits,
Wherever you may be--
Industry is growing
To help life work smoothly.
