TO: THE PRESIDENT ELECT

I have no idea what
Kind of President you'll be.
I hope you work long and hard
To heal the rifts in our country.

I hope you meant it when
You said you would be
A President for all of us--
No matter our income or ethnicity.

I hope on major decisions
Involving our country and allies,
You seek guidance from good advisors--
And talk to God--He is the MOST wise.

Keep your temper on an even
Keel, be patient with all.
Remember you're the President of the USA,
Not making deals as The Donald.

Don't insult world leaders--
Be diplomatic, but stand firm.
Show you can be honest and dependable--
Absorb the things you learn.

Let the world know where
America stands--giving aid
When needed, and defending our country
And stopping plans terrorists have made.

Remember YOU'RE working
For America's people now--
And we're depending on you.  We need
Peace and progress--not more rows.
