HAPPY BIRTHDAY USA!

Today is the 240th birthday of
The founding of the United States.
Our forefathers risked their lives--
Not knowing what would be their fate.

They wanted to get away from oppression
And tyranny, and to govern themselves.
Have freedom of speech, and religion,
Without fear of being left to rot in cells.

They founded this country on the
Beliefs that all of us are created
Equal, and that their faith in God would
See them through, though they were hated.

This country has fought many wars--
We even fought a Civil War to free
Slaves that were bought and sold
And treated like animals--no one should be.

We have fought foreign wars--not always
Popular, but to keep our freedom intact.
Our country was based on faith in God
And His word--though lately people ignore that.

We have division in this country.
Not just our citizens, but Federal
And State governments too.  We did very
Wrong to take God and prayer from our schools.

All the buildings in our nation's capitol
Have scriptures carved on them.
For those who want to keep God out--
Remember one of our rights is religious freedom.

Not everyone agrees all the time,
But our government leaders do nothing
But argue--and do nothing to help our citizens--
Sort of reminds one of tyranny.

We must all come together and work
Together for good.  Elect decent, hard
Working people to govern our country.
Who have some common sense, not blowhards.

Our forefathers built this country
Based on faith in God and His word.
With all the problems we have--He didn't
Fail us, we put Him last instead of first.

This birthday America--let's start
To reclaim our country and our rights--
Not through violence and destruction,
But by following God's Holy light.
