If I could have a giant wish,
And it could contain several parts--
I'd wish that love and human kindness
Would take root in everyone's heart.
I'd wish for peace in every
Nation, all around the world--
And the homeless find shelter and food,
Be they animals, men, women, boys or girls.
I'd wish for everyone, especially
Authorities, to use their common sense.
I'd wish for no more mass killings
Of the innocent and defenseless.
I'd wish that God and prayer could be
Spoken anywhere in our everyday lives.
And evil could be vanquished
At the very root of where it lies.
I'd wish people could feel safe
In both their countries and homes.
I'd wish no one would have to drop
Bombs with military drones.
I'd wish people could find comfort
When they lose someone they love--
And not seek revenge on others:
Everyone's had enough.
I'd wish the justice system worked better--
The punishment should fit the crime.
No one who rapes an unconscious woman
Should only do 6 month jail time.
I'd wish that those in authority
Would be honest and free of corruption.
And that protests and marches could be
Held without violence and destruction.
I could go on and on--
But I won't, everyone knows
What's needed to change:
Remember, evil is the foe.
