Maybe aggravating
A parent or two.

How everyone knew each other,
Made sure the kids felt safe--
Always knew where they were,
No lost or abandoned waifs.

Boys teased girls then too--
Just for the heck of it.
You knew a boy liked you
If your arm he hit.

Slumber parties, playing with dolls,
Car pooling to the movies.
The latest actor or singer
You thought was groovy.

Touch base with your
Childhood friends--make sure
They're okay, what they've been up to.
Don't close that last door.
