Sharing

From the time we are
Old enough to understand,
We're taught that sharing
And life go hand in hand.

Whether it's crayons at school,
Or volunteering to help others.
You're even supposed to share
With your sisters and brothers.

Share your love of God and Country,
And your family too.
Share your love of nature,
Share your love with one who loves you.

Sharing does not mean being
Greedy and wanting it all
For yourself--That just means
You have a lot of gall.

You don't "share" your weapons
With others by invading their land
And blowing up villages and cities
Because you want command.

Sharing is not taking guns
To schools, churches, theaters and malls--
And killing random innocent adults and
Children, watching them fall.

Some adults forget what sharing
Is supposed to mean--
What we're taught as children
Is definitely not their thing.

Not only parents teach sharing,
The Bible does too.
Jesus taught the people,
And shared what he knew.

Communication is sharing,
If we all did that instead
Of robbing, spying, and killing--
We'd all sleep better in our beds.
