Priorities

The priorities of this world,
That God has given us--
Have been discarded,
Trampled in the dust.

You use THINGS not people,
And you don't use them for war.
You use them to do good for others-
Both at home, in Sudan, or Darfur.

You should make it a priority
To be the best person you can be,
But NOT at the expense of others--
That shows a lack of integrity.

You feel blessed with what you have,
And don't take or steal from others.
No one wants a dictator, or be spied on
Through wiretaps--especially by our ally brothers.

People get so full of themselves,
And greed starts to come first.
Not just  for money, but for power.
It should be you, not them filling your purse.

We are to show kindness and caring.
Not self pride and arrogance.
Putin and Obama and others like them,
Need refreshers in humility and common sense.

Actually, all politicians need that--
They bicker and give themselves raises,
Which is not what we elected them for.
They just like to see themselves on the news pages.

When all is said and done, each person, each country
Need to get their priorities straight.
Before we destroy all mankind,
And then it will be too late.
