Maybe Someday

Maybe some day our world
Will be at peace.
No murders, rapes or shootings--
No riots in the streets.

Maybe some day different
Cultures and religions will peacefully
Co-exist.  People will see each other
As humans not enemies or bullies

Maybe some day leaders
Will realize that along with degrees,
Using plain common sense solves more
Problems than Executive Decrees.

Maybe people will be considered
Because of knowledge and experience--
Not their race, age, or gender.
All that would make no difference.

It won't happen in my lifetime,
Or during several more.
But holding on to hope and making
An effort--it can't be ignored.
