Don't let the world take you over,
And make you a shallow clone.
Keep being yourself and trust
God, you won't be alone.
While others may step on you
So they can get ahead--
Stay true to your values,
And never do as they did.
Don't lie or cheat,
Or stab a friend in the back.
You can still get to your goal--
Just not like that.
Don't take credit
For things you didn't do.
Wherever you go in life,
That reputation will precede you.
People say: "nice guys finish last",
In some cases that may be true.
But I'd rather have my integrity
And sleep at night--wouldn't you?
