Every year we celebrate
The birthday of our great nation.
The efforts of our forefather's legacy
Are definitely a special occasion.
There are the usual cookouts,
Parties and fireworks that are loud.
Patriotic concerts and parades,
Our military is the best and makes us proud.
She's seen her share of turmoil--
Civil War, assassinations, protests,
Corruption in government by people
Who put our constitution to the test.
Her citizens fought in wars
To protect others and ourselves.
Some other countries hate us--
They call us "evil infidels".
We still have reason to be proud,
Our country was built on life, liberty
And the pursuit of happiness,
And the word of God was a major key.
It's been said that we're not
A Christian nation--I say that's a load of crap.
"God Bless America" says it all.
And you can make bet on that.
