My Purple Passion

I have a passion for purple,
In every shade of it I see--
Pastels, medium, dark,
They're beautiful to me.

Some friends say I'm crazy,
And some agree with me.
They think it's nice--
After all, it's the color of royalty.

There is only one shade of purple
That I cannot stand--
It looks like a pretty shade
That is mixed with mud or sand.

I have a friend
Who hates paisley--
But that's okay, it's not usually purple--
So it doesn't faze me.

Another friend likes orange,
Bright and cheerful like the sun.
Reminds you of the Tropics--
Beaches and fun.

I have noticed that for Spring, Summer,
Winter and Fall--different shades
Of purple with various names are still in style.
It just never seems to fade.
