Migraines Aren't A Myth

People pass kidney stones,

Women have labor pains--

But people start to judge you

If you have migraines.



You can have

Arthritis pains--

Or pain with a body injury,

But not migraines.



People think you're lazy

Or don't want to work--

Or say to "work through it"---

And think you're a jerk.



If they could only feel

The nausea, vertigo and pain,

Light and sound sensitivity--

They wouldn't treat you with disdain.



They'd realize it's a very real illness--

Debilitating at times,

Employers might understand

And not add you to the unemployment lines.
